The Shawls are made from one of three weights of silk. The classic weight, the subtle weight, and the sheer weight. Please refer to the photos for further details regarding the function and description of the individual pieces. As with all of the work each piece is made individually, and we are happy to help with suggestions for use and what will work best for your specific style. Hand dyed brick orange/red iridescent silk that is finished with a hand rolled hem. Hand felted with a combination of brown, navy, pink, cocoa and turquoise wool. This is one of the original styles in my collection. It is warm, and can bring a pop of famine flair to a demin jacket and jeans or can be used more formerly to drape over a little black or navy dress. All the better in a color that is fun and makes a statement!
Hand dyed bright aqua silk gauze. Hand felted with a combination of chocolate brown, chestnut, tan, cream, monochromatic aqua and a touch of bright peachy orange. The silk in this piece is sheer. It has a matte finish, which makes it more casual, than dressy. It is lightweight and warm as a shawl when worn open. It is also useful as a large scarf when wrapped around the neck. It is a great transitional weight to be used in most seasons.
Hand dyed bright lime green silk. Hand felted with a combination of light blue and slate gray wool on one side versus white wool with a pop of pink on the other. This piece looks great with white black gray and with any denim. A super soft and warm shawl. The asymmetrical finished edge in this scarf makes it sleek and sophisticated and less "dressy" than other styles. It can be layered successfully when folded in half and worn higher around the neck and shoulder. Awesome for fall with a lighter coat, or a must have for winter!
This original silk gauze shawl is composed of black white and hot pink hand dyed silk color blocks that are joined in a one of a kind original composition. This piece is hand felted with a combination of white, black classic warm charcoal gray and a touch of hot pink wool. It is hand embellished with black glass bugle beads.
